It just so happened or call it manifest destiny, these four individuals from Nepal were to meet seven seas away in the America to pin point Colorado, to experiment with sounds of music and to soak in a distorted haze.

Bijay Khaling has been a music enthusiast and professional percussionist from back in the days and he has played gigs with various nepali artists. He came to the states a decade ago along with his family but never gave up on music and kept playing in Boulder scene and has been a session musician for various touring premier musicians from Nepal. For his recent status he's a well doing man and a crucial member of theBhainkers.
Sidartha Bista a punk music admirer from Kathmandu, was first keen about playing the guitar from his high school days and now he is the guitarist for theBhainkers. He is definitely not a musical scholar nor a virtuous but his out of the clef note thinking and his total disregard for conventional styles makes him profound. He is a well doing man and a crucial member of theBhainkers.
Almost electrocuted when he was 12 trying to amplify some noise and till this day Robin Tamsang loves to meddle around with amps and effects (recording science). He spent his early childhood in Pune and moved to Kalimpong then dived in Kathmandu and now is residing in the states and he is still looking for his ultimate vacation in paradise. He is a well doing man and a crucial member of theBhainkers.
Where do we start with this individual about his eccentric ways and unconventional mind? Pranav Rai born in Brunei and tossed to the mid-west in 2004, this man has a deep understanding for music and being with theBhainkers has changed the dimension of theBhainkers sound. Like wise he is a well doing man and a crucial member of theBhainkers. PS he speaks in scratches.

In 2004 Zulu Cocunuts were playing around but due to musical differences and circumstantial predicament’s the band split, leaving Bijay and Robin recording and writing together. Sidartha whom Robin knew and had a separate project between the two going on, was asked to try out for the Bijay and Robin sound. It just so happened that the three were locked, stocked and loaded with the groove thus the name theBhainkers suited perfectly for the trio. Bijay had mentioned about a eccentric bloke in his Boulder circuit of friends to texture theBhainkers sound with some scratches and spins. Pranav a.k.a level came for the tryouts and since then mind, matter and music of the quartet has been ever expanding.

The Bhainkers are:

Bijay - Perc, Drums, Tablas and Vocals
Sid - Guitars and Infinite Wisdom
Robin - Bass, Vocals and Melodies Galore
Pranav - a.k.a Level - Turn Tables and FX

People curious about theBhaninkers sound, we humbly want to mention our influences, which have enormously infected our music fomenting it like a fine Boudreaux. Bands like The Rolling Stones, Sex pistols and The Clash. Depeche Mode, Portishead, Radiohead, Spacehog and Oasis and in the American side Alice in Chains, Bad Brains, Ministry, MC 5 and the driving beats of hip hop such as Kool Keith (Dr Octagon), Wu Tang Clan, GhostFace Killa, Eyeda, DJ Shadow, DJ Qubert, hip hop breaks and samples (Stone throws) and independent labels.

Last but not least melodies from nepali and indian classical, pop, rock and folk music ( R.D Burman, Jagjit Singh, Remo Fernandes, Naryan Gopal, Gopal Yanjan, Aruna Lama, Namaste Band, Rai ko Ris ) and many more of which we haven’t mentioned has much to do with our sound and we are very thankful for their legacy's. We believe we have managed to come out with some eclectic music, which we hope you all will enjoy.
